Conflict at the Rotondes in Luxembourg on 28 April 2024.

The second gig of the day in the second country of the day. Following the intimate TV Smith show in Belgium earlier in the afternoon, time to head into Luxembourg to see stalwart anarcho-punk band Conflict.

It felt like a bit of an anomaly seeing this band in the rather upmarket surroundings of the Rotondes (former railway engine shed) and in one of the wealthiest countries in Europe, if not the world. However, that didn’t prevent the band from putting in a cracking performance for the large crowd, many of whom, like me had come in from the surrounding countries.

I have previously met guitarist Gav at other Conflict shows, as well as with his other (now defunct?) band, Fields of The Nephilim. So, it was great to catch up for a chat, and also to meet singer Colin for the first time. Both lovely blokes. I even took over briefly on merch duties to help out whilst the band members got ready to go on stage.
