Maid Of Ace at The Pitcher in Düsseldorf, Germany on 18 December 2023.
Maid of Ace gig number 7 of 2023 for me, and the last one of the year, in Düsseldorf. In my opinion MOA are one of the best live bands on the circuit at the moment in the punk rock genre. Always giving 100 %, full of energy and as loud as f*ck.
A great venue, the Pitcher. The low compact stage makes the gigs here feel very intimate, whatever the size of the audience, although the shins take a bit of a bashing when you stand at the front. A good turnout this evening with some of the band members’ partners also in the crowd, which meant it had quite a personal, family atmosphere about it.
I managed to sing along to my usual favourites ‘Nostalgia’, ‘Made in England’ and (especially) ‘Live Fast Or Die’. I am sure that the band (in particular Anna) could hear me, being so close to the band and at almost the same height. I hope I didn’t put her off. 🙂
Very hot and sweaty gig but great fun as always, and I look forward to seeing MOA again in the New Year.
