Grade 2 at Scarborough Punk Festival 2025 (Day 1) in Scarborough, UK on 29 March 2025.
My third time at SPF, and it’s fast becoming (along with Rebellion) my favourite annual festival. Lovely venue, surroundings and vibe with top bands, staff and audience.
Highlight for me on the first day of the festival is Grade 2 (playing in a grade 2 listed building coincidentally), but no real surprise there. One of the bands that will be high on my ‘most seen’ of 2025 come the end of the year. Another cracking performance following soon after the end of their European tour with Rumjacks. Top bunch of lads too. Looking forward seeing them again in Benidorm in a couple of weeks time, and to the new album which should be out fairly soon.
Honourable Day 1 mentions for:
- Riskee and the Riducle: on paper, they shouldn’t really be my thing, but I really rather enjoy them this evening for the 2nd time that I’ve seen them recently;
- Anti Nowhere League: I have enjoyed them each time I’ve seen them in recent years;
- The Skids: I’ve not seen them since the late 70s but they are really good this evening. Several songs bring back memories, as I probably haven’t listened them for 40 odd years!
I will be booking my early bird ticket and accommodation soon for next year. I’m sure the line up is going to be worth it.
