Grade 2 at The Corn Exchange in Hertford, UK on 3 December 2024.
The 2nd of two consecutive gigs by Grade 2 in the exciting county of Hertfordshire. 🙂 After a short train journey from yesterday’s gig in Hitchin, with a quick stop off in Stevenage to visit the mural dedicated to the mighty Fields of the Nephilim, I arrive in Hertford.
Hertford is actually quite a pretty little town, and my accommodation is at the back of a quaint old pub almost opposite the venue. (Un)fortunately, the pub doesn’t open until late afternoon, so I am not tempted to sit there drinking for the entire afternoon, and I go for a walk. By the time I get back, the weather has taken a turn for the worse, so have a beer in the pub and find the local curry house to have some food before the gig.
The turn-out for the show is not that great, possibly since the potential audience has been diluted by yesterday’s gig in Hitchin being so nearby. A grey Wednesday night in Hertford is enough to break anyone’s resolve, but despite the somewhat low turnout, Grade 2 put their hearts into it and play another cracking show. Well done lads and see you again soon. Don’t miss them on this tour if you get the opportunity.
