In Evil Hour Acoustic at Rebellion Festival 2024.

I first discovered In Evil Hour at Rebellion Festival last year, and they were one of my best “new” band (to me) discoveries. So, although they were only scheduled to play an Almost Acoustic set this year, I was really pleased when they announced a full band show on the Thursday night at one of the Blackpool bars, along with Riskee And The Ridicule. So, I duly got myself an advance ticket and they played a brilliant full band set at the Bootleg Social on Thursday.

I was therefore really looking to seeing them again on the Almost Acoustic Stage as my first band of the Saturday afternoon at 12.30 pm. I wasn’t too sure how their hardcore punk sound would translate to an acoustic setting though. The room was pretty full, despite the ungodly hour (for Rebellion) of their appearance. I shouldn’t have worried, as they absolutely smashed it with a brilliant set, winning over the crowd well before they had ended. For me, singer Alice’s voice was amazing, and worked incredibly well over the dual acoustic guitars and electric bass.

There was even a human tower built, slightly unusual for an acoustic show. 😄 Can’t wait to see them again whether unplugged or full electric. Great band with great songs.
